I was born and raised in Southern California along with one younger brother. I began singing solos and joined the Church choir at the age of 12. All through junior high,
high school and college, I sang and acted on stage. "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Oklahoma"
being two of my very favorites. My mother was a major influence in my life. She was a teacher herself and because
of her, I have never really considered doing anything else. She was not
always the best role model as a wife, allowing my father to wear the pants in the family every once in a while, but she was
an awesome mother. It is because of her courage and faith in God that I have grown to be a strong Christian woman, loving
wife and a very blessed mother.
I attended Southern California College in Costa Mesa in the early 80’s and received my calling as a teacher there.
I double majored in Theater and Education and my first teaching position was teaching drama and social studies to middle school
kids at Gardena Valley Christian School. I met my husband a couple of years later in church and we married in 1989. I
married him knowing that I would never have children of my own, but the Lord had other ideas. Our daughter was born seven
years later and is a testimony herself of God’s infinite power, grace and love. She was born three months early at one
pound, fifteen ounces. She is now twelve years old, a perfectly average kid and a miracle from God many times over. I love
sharing her story.
Over the years, my husbands job has taken us to Arizona, Hawaii, Oregon and now Washington State. This is my 21st year in
education and I still look forward to going to work each day.
